August is National Minority Donor Awareness Month, and the need for Black and racially diverse blood and stem cell donors remains urgent — patients with sickle cell disease and other blood disorders often need closely matched donors to avoid transfusion complications, and diverse donors are chronically under-registered.
We’re partnering with local donation services to make registration simple: bring photo ID, expect about 15 minutes for blood donor registration or a quick cheek swab for the stem cell registry. Walk-ins welcome; appointments prioritized.
