BHASNet Awards First Community Grant to Saskatchewan-Based Support Group
First Community Grant awarded to support grassroots SCD support work.
BHASNet is proud to announce the first recipient of our Community Grant program: the Sickle Cell Support Group of Saskatchewan. The grant will support the group’s programming for the coming year, including monthly support meetings and educational workshops.
The Community Grant program was established to provide funding to grassroots organizations and community groups working to support people affected by blood disorders. The program is funded through donations and fundraising efforts by BHASNet.
“We’re thrilled to support the Sickle Cell Support Group of Saskatchewan,” said Peter Maduakor, Director of Finance at BHASNet. “The work they do is incredibly important, and we’re proud to help them continue their mission. This is just the first of many grants we hope to award.”
The Sickle Cell Support Group of Saskatchewan meets monthly in Regina and Saskatoon, offering peer support, education, and advocacy for people with sickle cell disease and their families.
Applications for the next round of Community Grants will open in early 2026.
