Thank You to Our Volunteers: The Backbone of BHASNet

Every organization talks about how important its volunteers are. But BHASNet isn’t an organization that happens to have volunteers — we are the volunteers. This network exists because people show up.

Over the past year, volunteers have:

• Organized and run workshops in schools and community centres
• Visited patients in the hospital, offering company and conversation
• Staffed our community events and held spaces for people who needed to talk
• Translated materials and helped us reach people who don’t access health information in English
• Built the infrastructure — the website, the registration system, the social media presence — that makes everything else possible

This work is invisible to most people. It happens on evenings and weekends, in between jobs and family responsibilities. It’s the quiet, consistent effort that turns a vision into a reality.

To every volunteer who has contributed to BHASNet: thank you. You are not just the backbone of this network. You are the heart.
